Sign the Petition: As announced on our website and following other initiatives undertaken by parents, I invite you to read and sign the Petition below, intended to draw the attention of the Secetary-General of the European Schools, M. Kari Kivinen, and the Members of the Board of Governors to the concerns and objections of parents of all the European Schools to the proposed reforms of the Secondary Cycle. The Petition is the result of an initiative taken by and organise
d jointly by representatives of the parents at Brussels 1, 2, 3, 4 and Luxembourg 1 and 2 Schools.

Additional information events on 15 and 18 November
While it has still not been possible to receive an answer to our questions regarding secondary reform in writing, the Secretary General has recently become very active in offering oral information sessions. Two more sessions will now be organized by the Commission (cf. below).
Please attend them numerously, raise your questions and express your concerns, in addition to signing the petition and lobbying your national representatives. Of course, APEEE appreciates very much this offer, however we think that in an administration oral answers cannot replace the necessary written assessments and guarantees concerning such a far-reaching reform.
· Why will there be no prior full-fletched assessment of the pedagogical impact and effects which such a far-reaching reform will have upon all levels of the school: primary, S1-S5 and S6-S7?
· How can be claimed that all sections, big and small, will get the same offer if a minimum number of pupils is required before a course will be offered in a certain language even within the filière system?

Reform of the secondary cycle in the European Schools,

This presentation of the proposed changes relating to the reform of the secondary cycle in the European Schools and the opportunity to ask questions will be given on Monday the 18/11 between 12h45 -14h30. Parents living outside Brussels are invited to send questions to HR-MAIL-C2@ec.europa.eu before the 18/11 at 10h00.

In order to meet the concerns of parents and to give the possibility to ask questions, the European Commission has invited the deputy Secretary General of the European Schools, Mr Marcheggiano, to two lunch-time sessions.
